FAQ: When do I choose my newborn photographer? Are photographers allowed in NC hospitals?

Congratulations! One of the most common questions I’m asked by first time parents is “When should I choose my newborn photographer?” Many also do not know that newborn photographers are no longer allowed inside of hospitals. This may be temporary, or it may become a new regulation to keep your family safe at the hospital.

My own son arrived at 36 weeks, and I know firsthand the stress of trying to make decisions after baby has arrived. I can only imagine the stress that’s added when family can’t come to help at home with baby. You are so mentally and physically exhausted. You will be SO happy you chose your newborn photographer at 20 weeks.

We will have time to get to know one another before your sessions. This is super important because I’ll be caring for your incredibly precious newborn for almost two hours!

When you reserve your newborn and maternity sessions at 20 weeks, you are guaranteeing availability on my calendar when you are 32-34 weeks pregnant and again within 5-14 days of your successful delivery. Your estimated due date is set a temporary date for your session, but once baby makes their arrival we will fit you in soon.

Newborn sessions are at 10 am Monday - Thursday at our climate controlled, spacious, studio in Monroe NC. All sessions take place here because we adhere to the strictest COVID-19 policies and can guarantee your safety.
